Save Twitter (X) videos on iPhone

X has no download button for most videos. Here is the simple, free way to save any public X video or GIF to your iPhone Photos — no app and no login.

Quick answer: copy the post link in X, paste it on sstik.top in Safari, tap Download, then open Files → Downloads and tap Share → Save Video. The video is now in Photos.

01The 4 steps at a glance

It takes about a minute the first time and a few seconds after that. Here is the whole process on one screen:

1Copy the post link

In X, tap Share (↑) under the post → Copy link.

2Open SSTIK in Safari

Open Safari → sstik.top and tap Paste.

3Paste and download

Tap Download, pick a quality, then confirm Download.

4Save it to Photos

Files → Downloads → tap the video → Share → Save Video.

02Step 1 — Copy the post link in X

Open the postIn the X app, find the post with the video or GIF. If it is a reply or a quote, tap it first so it opens on its own.
Tap ShareTap the Share icon (the arrow pointing up) under the post.
Copy linkChoose Copy link. The link looks like x.com/name/status/123…

Copy the link of the post, not the profile. A profile link (x.com/name) has no video in it.

03Steps 2 & 3 — Download it with Safari

Open SafariGo to sstik.top/twitter-video-downloader. Tip: tap Share → Add to Home Screen so it opens like an app next time.
Paste the linkTap Paste in the box (or long-press the box and choose Paste), then tap Download.
Pick a qualityChoose the highest quality for the best picture, or a smaller one to save space. Posts with several videos show each one separately.
Confirm in SafariSafari asks Do you want to download…? — tap Download. A blue arrow appears next to the address bar while it saves.

04Step 4 — Move the video to Photos

Safari puts every download in the Files app first. One more tap moves it to your gallery:

Open DownloadsTap the blue download arrow in Safari, or open the Files app → Browse → Downloads.
Open the videoTap the file so it starts playing.
Save VideoTap Share (the square with an arrow) and choose Save Video. It now shows up in Photos → Recents.

Can't find the Downloads folder? Check Settings → Apps → Safari → Downloads (on older iOS: Settings → Safari → Downloads) to see whether files go to iCloud Drive or On My iPhone.

05Save only the sound as MP3

Want just the audio — a speech, a song or a podcast clip? After the video appears on SSTIK, tap Download audio (MP3) under the video button. The MP3 goes to Files → Downloads, where you can play it, share it, or open it in another app.

06GIFs, multi-video posts and iPad

  • GIFs: X stores every GIF as a short silent MP4. Download it the same way and use Save Video — it loops in Photos.
  • Several videos in one post: SSTIK lists each one, so download them one at a time.
  • iPad: the steps are exactly the same in Safari.
  • Chrome on iPhone: it also saves to Files. When the download finishes, tap Open in… → Save Video.
  • Telegram: send the link to @SSTIKdownloader_bot and save the video it sends back.

Frequently asked questions

Can I save Twitter videos on iPhone without an app?

Yes. Safari is all you need. Paste the post link on SSTIK, download the video, then move it from Files to Photos with Share → Save Video.

Where do downloaded X videos go on iPhone?

Safari saves them in the Files app, in the Downloads folder (iCloud Drive or On My iPhone). They only show up in Photos after you tap Save Video.

Why does nothing happen when I tap Download?

You are probably in the browser inside the X app, which blocks downloads. Tap the Safari or compass icon to open the page in Safari and try again.

Can I save only the sound as MP3?

Yes. After the video appears on SSTIK, tap Download audio (MP3) under the video button. The MP3 is saved to Files → Downloads.

How do I save a Twitter GIF to my iPhone?

Download it the same way. X stores GIFs as short MP4 videos, so you save it with Save Video and it plays on a loop in Photos.

Does this work on iPad?

Yes. The steps are exactly the same in Safari on iPad.

Is there an SSTIK app for iPhone?

No. The SSTIK app is for Android only. On iPhone and iPad, Safari works just as well — add SSTIK to your Home Screen to open it like an app.

Can I download videos from protected accounts?

No. Posts from protected (private) accounts are only visible to approved followers, so they cannot be downloaded.
